SPIE Photonics West 2026 is currently underway at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, USA. Since the opening day, technologies related to optical communications, high-power lasers, LiDAR, and advanced sensing have continued to attract significant attention. Unlike previous years, which often emphasized the performance of individual optical components, a clear trend has emerged on the show floor this year: optical solutions are rapidly evolving from the “component level” towards “system-level delivery.”

At the Hobbite booth, frequent discussions revolved around optical path integration, miniaturization, and batch consistency, strongly reflecting the demand for optical designs that are “manufacturable and deployable.”

Optical Communications Exhibits

Hobbite’s optical path designs for 800G / 1.6T optical modules became a key focus of on-site discussions. Multiple visitors engaged in detailed conversations regarding the optical path stability, insertion loss control, and mass-production challenges associated with integrated lens arrays and prisms.
The integrated lens array and beam steering prism solution we showcased at Booth 5530 attracted on-site discussions with several overseas optical module and system manufacturers, due to its low-loss characteristics and proven mass-production performance. This solution, already implemented in actual optical communication products, is one of our key optical offerings presented under the core exhibition logic of “verified applications.”

High-Power Laser Applications

In the domain of high-power laser applications, the focus of discussions at the exhibition centered on the ablation resistance and long-term stability of optical components within industrial laser transmission and processing applications.
Addressing this trend, the laser end-cap and lens integrated solution showcased on-site demonstrates a potential pathway for enhancing coupling efficiency and system lifespan in real-world industrial environments. This is achieved through the co-optimization of beam shaping and high-power endurance design. The exhibit also prompted in-depth exchanges with numerous professional visitors regarding actual application conditions.

50G PON Solutions

In areas related to access networks and sensing, 50G PON was one of the most frequently mentioned technology directions. Beyond performance metrics, visitors placed greater emphasis on practical parameters like usability within the optical architecture. The dedicated 50G PON optical solution displayed at the exhibition integrates key optical modules such as the PBS beam splitting structure and Z-block.
